Re-imagining the Future of Space

This Music City Multi-Gen home is re-designed to combine a functional second living space with sophisticated elegance. The goal is to create an inviting retreat for elder family members that offers both comfort and independence, while maintaining the "whole house" feel. The design incorporates natural light, ease of movement, and elegant finishes to evoke a sense of refined, country living.

Conceptualization and Planning

This phase involves creating a design concept that marries the current footprint with elegant details. Mood boards highlight the use of natural light, cool tones, and luxurious fabrics. Detailed planning includes selecting functional yet refined furniture, as well as coordinating accessories that enhance the cozy, sophisticated atmosphere.

Implementation and Styling

The implementation phase focuses on bringing the multigen concept to life. The living room features a large, chenille sofa, a reclaimed wood TV tripod, and a warm fireplace. The kitchen showcases custom cabinetry with acacia countertops, a farmhouse sink, and high-end appliances. The asian themed hobby room provides a stand-up desk for puzzles and computer work as well as a red leather arm chair for reading. The suite's primary bedroom provides a calm sanctuary with etherial grey walls and views of the garden and stream. To maintain the light from the grand staircase and create a soundproof independent living space, a large tempered glass wall was installed. Completing the project was a complete refresh throughout the main house to accentuate the beautiful wood floors and luminous windows, as well as the addition of a spa, pool, and koi pond in the rear gardens.
